A few friends decided to meet up for a couple of days in Denver, you know explore, go hiking, and just see where the trip takes us. We had an amazing host Rand who pretty much planned fun activities for us while we were in the city. It also happened to be his birthday, so we celebrated with him and all around had an amazing weekend.
My favorite part of the trip was going up into the mountains, it was simply breathtaking, relaxing and the views were amazing. My friend Alana and I practically damn near had heart attacks going up the mountain; I’m taking no guard rails, high cliffs, windy and curvy mountain roads and constantly thinking we were gonna fall off the side of the mountain. Rand thought it was hilarious but by the time we were going down the mountain I came to the conclusion that there was no point freaking out because if we fell off the mountain side, I wasn’t going to survive it, so might as well enjoy the views if it was going to be my last. Thankfully Rand was a very good driver, and save for a few road mishaps aka the car breaking down on our way back from Mount Evans, we had an amazing time just enjoying the city.
I found the elevation made it difficult to breathe and while hiking up the mountain I found myself out of breathe, there goes my resignation as a card carrying member of #teamfitfam (note to self: you are not in that great shape, but there is hope lol), lets not forget our rock climbing adventure. In all honesty it wasn’t much rock climbing, we saw kids scrambling across the rocks while I had to summon up all the courage in me to climb a few rocks… hahaha oh how I admire kids and their fearlessness.
All in all Denver was a great weekend and I will be sure to visit soon. Shout out and many thanks to Rand who was an amazing host. I really enjoyed my time in Denver, it was good catching up with friends, exploring beautiful Denver and her environs, driving up into the mountains, climbing rocks, exploring the midtown area, breweries, amazing meals, and the likes.
